Alfaris Traditional Combat Sports Organization
Alfaris Traditional Combat Sports initiative aims to promote the virtues and values of traditional Arab chivalry which epitomize in the meaning of goodness and honor. One of Alfaris’s main desires is to foster these values within society both in this region and the broader world. It aims to promote and showcase the culture and values of Arab Islamic Chivalry, thereby positively impacting the region and the world. The sense of honor and decency that can be imparted through this system of sports can not only impact and transform the lives of the practitioners, but also the local community, broader society, and the international community.
Alfaris Traditional Combat Sports
The values of chivalry which are similar in many martial cultures provide a solid moral and ethical foundation for both people and society, and they collectively stem from traditional religious values. When adopting the system of chivalry along with the values it is founded on, people and societies may soar to resounding heights by nurturing those somewhat dormant virtues that reside within us.
Today more than ever people are in need of a system of ethical and moral values, founded on virtue which brings out the best in people and spares them the misguided bewilderment stemming from the adoption of some of the shallow transient beliefs of today. An unfortunate modern system of ideas which aims only to confuse and bewilder.
The Origins of Alfaris:
The origins of the Alfaris Traditional Combat Sports organization derive from the three Alfaris International Horseback Archery Competitions that were held in Jordan between 2011 and 2018, and which were honored by the Royal Patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II. During these events, Alfaris was able to develop and showcase the unique Arab "Alghara" style along with the other international styles which are commonplace in these types of events.
Alfaris Festival for Traditional Combat Sports:
Thus, the Alfaris International Horseback Archery Competition has become, The Arabian Alfaris Festival for Traditional Combat Sports and was set to host its first event in the Jordan Valley during the spring of 2021, in partnership with the Jordan Valley Development Company, and the support of the royal heritage foundation. This unfortunately was not to pass due to the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
