Prince Hashim enjoys the outdoors, his pastimes include hiking camping and marksmanship. He is also a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu jitsu a discipline which he has been practicing when time has permitted for more than 10 years. He believes that wrestling/grappling which is the basis for Jiu jitsu is a metaphor for life and one of the perennial sports, and his interest in grappling partially stems from its firm roots in the Arabic and Islamic traditions. His Royal Highness is fluent in Arabic and English, and he is also a student of the Turkish language.
